Choose between three tours:

Taste of Mariannelund – 5 km (3 hours)

Småland culture & food experiences – 17 km (4 hours)

Bullerbyn & Katthult – 31 km (6 hours), operated with e-bikes
All tours start at 11:00 am, giving you plenty of time to travel calmly the same day to Mariannelund from Jönköping, Linköping, Kalmar, Västervik, or Växjö. If you stay overnight in Vimmerby, Eksjö, Hultsfred, or Vetlanda, it’s only about a 30-minute trip to the starting point in Mariannelund.
Open tours: Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A guided cycling tour in Mariannelund is a perfect way to experience and get to know Småland in an active and personal way.
Our tours are led by dedicated local guides who know the areas around Vimmerby and Eksjö well and are passionate about sharing both history and present-day Småland. The tours are ideal for visitors who want to learn more, experience something unique, and see more than the usual sights. A natural part of your holiday if you are visiting the regions around Jönköping, Kalmar, and Växjö in Småland, or Linköping in Östergötland.

Can I ride my own bike?
A bike is always included in the tour, but if you prefer to ride your own bike, you are of course welcome to do so. Please indicate this when booking so we know not to bring a bike for you. The price remains the same.
Is the tour suitable for children?
The short 5 km tour is absolutely suitable for children.
The 17 km tour is suitable for children who are used to cycling longer distances.We offer junior bikes (24” and 26”) that can be booked through our digital booking system. You may also bring your child’s own bike.
The long tour is operated only with e-bikes, which makes it difficult for children who cannot ride an adult-sized bike. However, children in a bike seat or trailer are welcome.

Can I cycle on my own without a guide?
We only offer guided cycling tours.
If you wish to rent a bike and cycle on your own, we recommend Motorsport in Vimmerby och Cykelsmedjan in Eksjö.I need a special diet – can I still book a tour?
Yes! We offer vegetarian and vegan options, as well as meals free from gluten, lactose, and milk protein.
Please indicate your dietary requirements when booking.Can I stay overnight nearby?
Yes, there are several accommodation options nearby.
In Mariannelund, we recommend Pensionat Solhöjden.
Within a short drive, you’ll also find Fredensborga Herrgård (Storebro), Hotel Ullinge (Eksjö), and Wallby Säteri (Vetlanda).How do we get to Mariannelund?
From the railway hub Nässjö, bus 325 runs to Mariannelund every hour.
From Linköping and Kalmar, take the train to Vimmerby and then change to bus 325.The bus stop in Mariannelund center is located right by the square where the short tours start (5 km and 17 km).
If you’ve booked the long tour (30 km), get off at Filmbyn Småland and have a nice walk to Spilhammars Camping.If you are traveling by car, take Route 40 from Gothenburg or Västervik to Mariannelund.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We recommend dressing for the weather. We adapt the tour and go ahead even if it rains.
In case of thunderstorms, the tour will be cancelled, and you will receive a refund or the option to rebook for another day.You can also purchase a rebooking guarantee in the booking system, allowing you to reschedule regardless of the reason.
Will we see filming locations from Astrid Lindgren’s films?
Yes. The short tours (5 and 17 km) take you to locations where the indoor scenes from Emil of Lönneberga were filmed and include plenty of local stories and anecdotes from the time the films were made in Mariannelund.
The long tour (30 km) takes you to Emil’s Katthult and the real Noisy Village (Bullerbyn).
Can I buy a gift card for a guided cycling tour in the Film Landscape?
Yes, gift cards can be purchased online and paid for easily and securely through our booking system.

Is it possible to book a bike seat or trailer for small children?
Yes. We offer children seats, trailers, and tag-along bikes that attach to an adult bicycle.
These can be added as extras when booking your place in our digital booking system, where payment is also handled securely.
